Maelifell-50copieslimitedtape

Demo 1998-99.Tape limited to 50 copies.

Like what appearances are deceptive! When I first heard the name of the group, I thought it was a formation of more black metal. Shame on me! Maelifell we propose here a demo tape of 11 untitled tracks, limited to 50 copies.

The first listen left me speechless. Magnificent neo-classical instrumental, vaguely medieval, sometimes supported by discreet percussion veil of romantic melancholy, recalling the whole splendor of In The Nursery, Regard Extreme, or Ozymandias Endraum. All, however, suffers from a weakness in the recording and production, but for a first embodiment, is quite honorable. Instrumentation sometimes a little too minimalist and melancholy that even a little naive undermine the potential of real music. The excuse is certainly the fact that everything has been recorded in one go, without using a sequencer, which explains the slight dead time, and we must not forget that these compositions date back any The same 2 years. Developments since then has been meteoric (see column below).

You catch yourself dreaming of reworked versions with intensified production and stricter. Anyway, Maelifell enters through the front door in the family dark-folk neo-classical European and can easily claim a deserved international reputation. Remember this name, I am convinced that very soon Maelifell represent a new sound values of the European folk apocalyptic scene. http://www.archive.org/download/Maelifell50copieslimitedtape/Maelifell50copieslimitedtape_vbr_mp3.zip
